Jimmy Lile changed the face of cutlery and altered the lives of many. For many people this change was simply an increased interest in knives and for some this change was much greater. The movie FirstBlood® and the knife used in the film created a stir in the industry that can still be felt today. Jimmy's knife opened doors that did not exist prior to the knife being featured in the film. Today as we look on the industry we can still see his influence.

This ‘Farid FB’™ project is a life long project to honor Jimmy Lile who inspired me to start making knives. This knife has been re-created only in respect and honor to Jimmy’s hard work and contribution to the knife industry, it is my way of saying thanks to a great knife maker for a life long of inspiration.

There are many knife makers out there who have made their own versions of this great classic design. My version is based on the number 1 – 6 knives that were sent to Sylvester Stallone for the shooting of FirstBlood®. The details are as accurate as I could make it.

In building this new knife ( Farid FB™ ) I am trying to come full circle and honor the man who created this spark of inspiration inside me. I know there are people who will say that I am building these knives purely for financial reasons, this is simply not the case. I do have to be compensated for my time as everyone does but this project goes much deeper than simply money. This project reflects every skill I have earned through years of hard work and now I use this skill to create a new piece of history. I hope that Jimmy would be proud of my efforts and that somehow he is now looking down and has a smile of pride in the legacy he has left behind.

There are going to be 13 knives all numbered 1-13 and some prototypes, some stamped ‘0000’ and future none numbered knives. All will come with a small folder like the original knife did, butt caps are all machined from large diameter stainless and knurled, compass will be fitted to all butt caps. The ‘O’ rings that will finally be fitted to all ‘Farid FB’™ knives will be red silicon. $1850
